Old foods and dirty shelves will make buyers wonder how well the rest of the house has been maintained.
  • Declutter your kitchen pantry. You want the buyers to feel that the space is big enough for all of their storage needs.
  • Remove all items from the outside of the Refrigerator. Magnets, pictures, grocery list…all of these things need to go.
  • If you have a hanging pot rack, take it down. Hanging pot racks are distracting, and make the kitchen seem smaller.
  • Remove all but two small appliances from the counter tops. Pick two, possibly the coffee maker and the can opener.
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables make great centerpieces in the kitchen. No shriveled apples or brown bananas. Remember lemons and limes are long lasting!
  • Clean and bright is the main objective for your kitchen. Everything needs to be cleaned well. This includes cabinet fronts, floors, appliances, and trim work such as baseboards, doors, and door frames.

1. Go green. Energy efficient products and household goods are attractive to buyers. Buyers will love renovations or replacements that help make the house more energy efficient.

2. Wider baseboards. The petty baseboard that builders often use in tract homes doesn’t draw attention. Adding a wider baseboard and a fresh coat of paint makes the room come to life. In any size home this could be very attractive

3. Textured paint. Fresh paint to a wall makes a lasting impression. Choose colors and textures wisely. Don’t get carried away with a color you love remember, that you want your home to appeal to the masses.

4. Improved flooring. Chipped, torn, or dirty flooring can be a huge turnoff for buyers. .They’ll think your home hasn’t been cared for properly which could result in a lower offer -- or no sale at all. New flooring is an excellent idea.
